Revamping UX to become the preferred digital wallet

A digital wallet initially built for toll payments sought to become the go-to app for all spending solutions. We were approached to collaborate and boost user adoption through design innovation.

Getting to
know ‘Jeff’

Working closely with various stakeholders, including the tech, design, product, and marketing teams, we gathered insights to develop user stories. In the process, our UX designers outlined the user journey of a crafted persona named Jeff to understand his hindrances and needs.

We found a lack of awareness about the digital wallets full capabilities. Users perceived that the platform was meant primarily for toll payments, not that it was a one-stop-shop for all daily transactions.

Rolling out design solutions

To advance the digital wallets adoption, we encouraged design-led specific user behaviour while meeting security, control, and transparency protocols, and introduced value-added functions. We prefer the agile approach during work sprints to capture almost real-time feedback and solve problems more efficiently.

Seamless
Onboarding
Experience

We overhauled the onboarding process to highlight the app’s versatility in handling a multitude of payments beyond tolls. Strategically-placed prompts and tips nudged users to explore the full suite of features and gain a more comprehensive experience.

Enhanced
Budgeting
Controls

In an increasingly financially- and tech-savvy world, we know users seek intuitive and automated expense management tools. Hence, we integrated robust budgeting and tracking functions to empower users with financial control and security, bolstering the apps use cases for better adoption.
